ÇOBAN SALATA SHEPHERD'S SALAD

The most popular of Turkish salads is shepherd’s salad, randomly chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, pepper, and parsley, served with olive oil, lemon, and salt.

Çoban Salata (Shepherd’s Salad)

Whether this salad is popular because it is effortless to make or because it is tasty, it is undoubtedly the most popular salad in Turkey.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium tomatoes 
  • 1 medium green pepper 
  • 1 medium cucumber 
  • ½ large onion 
  • 3 sprigs parsley 
  • 3 tbsp olive oil 
  • Juice of ½ lemon freshly squeezed
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

How to make Shepherd's Salad

  • Finely dice the tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, and onions, and finely chop the parsley.
  • Transfer all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and add the olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Toss it all well.
  • Let rest for at least half an hour in the refrigerator before serving.
