- 2 puff pastry sheets
- 100 g cream cheese at room temperature
- 100 g smoked turkey thinly sliced (ham, bacon or prosciutto are great options as well)

- sesame seeds for sprinkling
- ketchup for serving

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F), top and bottom heat.

- Scatter the smoked turkey slices over the cream cheese, then place the second puff pastry sheet on top to cover it.
- Cut the layered pastry into 15 vertical strips. Shape each strip into a small Christmas tree (twisting or folding upward) and insert a wooden skewer to help it hold its shape.
- Transfer the trees onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, decorate with ketchup and serve warm.
Notes
Chef’s Notes
- For extra flakiness, chill the shaped trees for 10–15 minutes before baking.
- If the puff pastry is too soft, refrigerate it for 5 minutes before cutting.
- You can assemble and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
- The trees can be baked ahead and reheated in the oven for 5–7 minutes at 180°C / 350°F.
