Savory Christmas Tree Puff Pastries (Cream Cheese & Smoked Turkey)

These savory Christmas trees that chef Giorgos Tsoulis made, is the perfect festive creation to offer your loved ones a unique and creative starter. Cream cheese, turkey and sesame in a lovely savory dough, create super tasty little trees that everybody will adore!
100gsmoked turkeythinly sliced (ham, bacon or prosciutto are great options as well)
1eggfor brushing
sesame seedsfor sprinkling
ketchupfor serving
15wooden skewers
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F), top and bottom heat.
Place the first puff pastry sheet on your work surface and spread the cream cheese evenly over it.
Scatter the smoked turkey slices over the cream cheese, then place the second puff pastry sheet on top to cover it.
Cut the layered pastry into 15 vertical strips. Shape each strip into a small Christmas tree (twisting or folding upward) and insert a wooden skewer to help it hold its shape.
Transfer the trees onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Once baked, decorate with ketchup and serve warm.
Notes
Chef's Tip: The savory Christmas trees can be assembled ahead of time. Keep them in the refrigerator and bake the next day.
