Turkish Style Potato Salad
Of course, it is impossible to imagine Turkey’s most popular root vegetables not being consumed as salads. Carrots, celery, potatoes all have different roles in salads, as do cooking and chopping techniques. Still, all of them are highly valued in Turkish cuisine.
Turkish Style Potato Salad
Potato salad appears in almost every food culture. But the Turkish potato salad is something special.
Ingredients
- 2 litre water
- 4 large potatoes
- 3 sprigs of spring onions
- ½ bunch of parsley
- juice of 1 lemon
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp sumac
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Instructions
How to make Turkish Style Potato Salad
- Heat the water in a large pot, boil the potatoes in the hot water until fork-tender.
- Cool the boiled potatoes and peel them. Dice the potatoes into large chunks.
- Finely chop the spring onions and the parsley.
- Mix the potatoes, onions, and parsley in a large bowl. Add lemon juice, olive oil, sumac, and season with salt and pepper.
- Make sure that all of the salad ingredients are well mixed, being careful not to mash the potatoes.
- Serve cold.
