Where to Splurge: Atlanta’s Most Expensive Restaurants in 2025

Atlanta's most expensive restaurants

Once known more for its Southern comfort food and barbecue than fine dining, Atlanta has quietly transformed itself into one of America’s rising gourmet destinations. The city’s restaurant scene now boasts an impressive lineup of Michelin-starred establishments (the Michelin Guide entered Atlanta in 2023), cutting-edge omakase counters, and tasting menus that rival those found in New York, Chicago, or San Francisco.

Chef’s Pencil’s research team went to work, analyzing Atlanta’s most expensive restaurants. The selection was based on either the highest-priced tasting menu or the most expensive three-course menu (starter, entrée, and dessert).

Atlanta’s Ultra-Premium Restaurant Scene Is Dominated by Japanese and Sushi-Centric Dining

Our biggest takeaway: Atlanta’s ultra-premium dining scene is largely shaped by Japanese and sushi-centric concepts, mirroring trends seen in major food hubs like New York. In our Atlanta study, the vast majority of the city’s most expensive tasting menus are found at sushi or omakase restaurants, where mastery, seasonality, precision, and artistry take center stage.

This mirrors our NYC research, where acclaimed restaurants such as Masa, Yoshino, and Sushi Noz dominate the list of Manhattan’s priciest dining experiences.

Many of the city’s most exclusive restaurants now boast a Michelin star, including all of the top five on our list, underscoring Atlanta’s growing status as a fine-dining destination. Yet not every high-priced experience is Michelin-starred nor Japanese—several standout establishments specialize in modern American, seafood, or steakhouse dining, offering refined but distinctly different approaches to luxury cuisine.

Below are the city’s priciest restaurants based on the highest available tasting menu price.

Note: This ranking is based on each restaurant’s highest-priced tasting menu or the cost of a three-course meal (starter, main, and dessert) from the à la carte menu. Most of these establishments also offer more moderately priced menus or à la carte options, making them accessible to a wider range of diners.

Hsu emphasizes that at the heart of it all is connection: greeting guests by name, maintaining eye contact, and personalizing hospitality.
