Waldorfsalat – Waldorf Salad
Waldorf salad was invented sometime between 1893 and 1896 at the Hotel Waldorf in Manhattan NY. The salad enjoys a great deal of popularity worldwide, but the Finns have really adopted it into their cuisine. It features in many homes as an excellent side dish to the main roast, even on the Christmas table.

Ingredients
Dressing
- 2 tbsp yoghurt or sour cream 18%
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or salad cream
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 lemon juiced

- 400 gr grapes halved
- 100 gr walnuts chopped
- 2 apples sweet, such as Honeycrisp apples, diced or sliced with the peel on.
