Orange Butter Cookies
I love these orange-flavored butter cookies. They make a great treat for the holidays or anytime of the year.
For me, oranges are a must in wintertime. They bring color and fragrance into the house, a fairytale scent, and they also provide a wonderful aroma to cookies & desserts.
This is an easy recipe that will make some very tender and super aromatic cookies that will last for up to two weeks. Enjoy!
Orange Butter Cookies
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 150 g butter
- 80 g sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp of orange juice
- 280-300 g flour
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 1 level teaspoon ammonium for cakes
- grated orange peel
- 50 g dark chocolate
Instructions
How to make ORANGE BUTTER COOKIES:
- Mix the soft butter at room temperature with the sugar until it becomes airy and creamy.
- Add the egg, grated orange zest, orange juice and mix well until fully incorporated.
- Separately mix the flour with the ammonium and salt.
- Gradually add flour to the butter cream and mix on low speed.
- If the mixture is too stiff, we can add 2 tablespoons of milk for fluidization.
- The mixture should be soft enough to be used in a garnish.
- I used a star tipped dui.
- Preheat the oven to medium heat and line the large baking tray with baking paper.
- Spread the cookies in the pan in the desired shape.
- Place the tray in the oven and bake the cookies for 13-15 minutes until lightly browned on the sides.
- Remove the tray from the oven and leave the cookies in the tray for another 10 minutes to harden and then transfer them to a grill to cool.
- Garnish the cookies with thin strips of melted chocolate. Let the chocolate harden.
- When they are ready, transfer the cookies to an airtight container. They last 1-2 weeks.
- Enjoy!
