Superb White Kitchen at the Plaza Hotel, New York
The New York City Plaza Hotel needs no introduction. The famed luxury hotel and condominium apartment building situated on Fifth Avenue opened in 1907 and has become an NYC icon.
The Plaza has been for many decades the NYC hotel to see and be seen in. Countless kings, presidents, and movie stars have stayed at the Plaza. Hollywood has made it world-famous by featuring it prominently in more than a dozen movies starting with Hitchcock’s North by Northwest up to Leonardo Dicaprio’s The Great Gatsby.
What about apartments at the Plaza? The Plaza ranks among the 10 most expensive properties in Manhattan according to the New York Post, averaging a whopping $3,948 per square foot.
The most expensive pad ever sold at the Plaza Hotel fetched $75 million and went to style guru Tommy Hilfiger.
Compared to Hilfiger’s apartment – this large 695 square foot studio looks like a steal. The price tag of $1.4 million, or $2,014 per square foot, is significantly lower than the building average.
The apartment has high ceilings, huge windows and superb hardwood flooring. The kitchen area is surprisingly spacious for a studio and has all-white custom-made cabinets. The black Nero Marquita stone countertops and mosaic Calacatta provide a perfect contrast to the white cabinets.
The design is elegant and minimalist and blends very well with the rest of the apartment. As expected, the kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances by Viking and Miele.
