Kitchen of the Week: Stunning Union Square Views & Vicente Wolf Design
15 Union Square West – the former HQ of Tiffany & Company, the luxury jewelry maker, was converted almost a dozen years ago into a boutique condominium. It is considered a masterpiece of transformation, from an historic cast-iron arch-windowed building to a black zinc and glass new façade.
Enter apartment #4 with its soaring 16’ ceilings and you are immediately swept away by the fantastic views. One of my favorite NYC buildings – the beautiful Consolidated Edison Building, a superb neoclassical skyscraper, is always in sight.
The open kitchen features an over-sized island with a stainless steel base, custom-made traditional mahogany legs and Calcutta marble countertop. The custom bronze-framed lime rubbed oak cabinets are in beautiful contrast to the hardwood floors throughout.
The kitchen is equipped with a Viking range and oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine refrigerator, and Miele dishwasher, speed oven and built-in espresso machine. All kitchen fixtures were custom designed by top designer Vicente Wolf.
Did we mention that you can enjoy those fabulous views from the kitchen, too? With Union Square lit up at night, it is perfect for cooking a romantic dinner or for entertaining.
