8 Best Free Candy Clipart Websites (with pictures!)
When you hear the word ‘candy’, what springs to mind? Is it the traditional candy canes of Christmas, striped with vibrant colours and emitting the scent of peppermint and sugar? Is it handfuls of wrapped confectionary, assorted by colour in different jars on a sweetshop shelf? Or is it a large bar of chocolate encased in a foil wrapper complete with decadent and eye-catching design?
The fact is, all over the world, ‘candy’ as a term means different things to different people. While in the United Kingdom candy primarily refers to the hard-boiled sweet variety, in the USA candy can means anything from chocolate to marshmallows and everything in between.
With such a range of potential interpretations, one of the key things that we looked out for in our search for free candy clipart, was a good selection of images available; suitable to tailor to any desire or requirement.
Here are some of our very favourite sites offering the finest in confectionary clipart.
Pixabay
Pixabay is our top search engine for free clipart thanks not only to the selection of results available, but to its remarkably effective usability. The search bar sits alongside a filter function which allows you to narrow your search down to photos, vector images or illustrations – not only offering a distinction between photos and clipart, but also allowing you to filter it further into cartoon finish images, and more realistic hand drawn images.
In terms of our ‘candy’ search, the results for illustrations were particularly pleasing, and covered every possibly interpretation of candy we could imagine – but a whole lot more examples. The vector images were also effective and introduced us to a number of different graphic design artists who create excellent food related imagery for free use.
Clip Art Panda
Moving on to another old favourite, we immediately knew that Clip Art Panda would present what we were looking for. Though exceptional in its range of results available once we got to the right page, this site does throw up one or two challenges when actually using the search function, with the search bar not readily available from the site itself.
To overcome this challenge, the easiest way to find what you want is to search ‘Clip Art Panda candy’ in your search engine directly – this brought us to a results page with 44 entirely free clipart images -and we were not disappointed by the range available. Downloading the images from this site is super easy and, of course, free.
Clipartix
Clipartix provides a basic search tool for clipart hunters, quite literally featuring a search bar, and trending search terms. Upon our search for ‘candy’, the site provided us with a selection of 66 different images, all of which could be used for personal projects or designs – meaning no restrictions (always a good thing!)
As well as downloading the image, users are encouraged to share it across various social platforms with a variety of like and share buttons. The image page also displays the original size, type of file, the amount of times its been viewed by other users, and of course the image itself in full. And when it comes to the variety of options available, we were notably impressed by the selection of one-dimensional cartoon static images, alongside 3D illustrations and multi-layered images. Clipartix certainly covered all our candy needs – and more!
Clipart Library
This site presents a good selection of results although the information can be slightly confusing – providing allowance to use the images across your own website and blogs, before following this up with a regulation that the images are not for commercial use.
If, however you are looking for a few candy images for your own personal use, for example recipe cards or creations, then Clipart Library provides 84 different images which cover pretty much every kind of candy we can think of. After narrowing our ‘candy’ search down to free licence images only, we still ended up with an impressive 10,711 results, ranging from beautifully intricate hand drawn illustrations right through to line drawings, cartoons and even specific backgrounds.
In terms of the download process, attribution is required for most images, but this doesn’t matter when the results are such high quality, and with the selection available a little attribution seems like a fair enough trade. The other thing to be wary of with the free profile is the amount of ads on each page, although these are generally easy enough to avoid.
Public domain vectors
Though not the most expansive in terms of its results, Public Domain Vectors does offer a selection of free clipart images for immediate download and use, with an easy to use search tool and a filter which allows you to select the type of file you need.
