Cheddar Chive Scones

Distinctly British, these cheddar chive scones are super easy to make and a great snack or breakfast choice. They're also delicious for lunch or light dinner with a creamy vegetable soup.

225 g flour 1½ tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 75 g cold butter 75 g cheddar 125 ml cold milk fresh chives (or parsley)
Preheat the oven to 220°C/430° F.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt.
Add the diced butter and work it in with your fingers until you get a crumbly dough.
Add the grated cheddar and then the cold milk and greens. Mix well and shape the dough into a ball.
Roll out a 1.5 cm (2/3 of an inch) thick sheet of dough.
Cut out the scones with a 5-6cm ( 2- 2⅓ inch) diameter round cutter, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush with milk.
Bake for 15-17 minutes.
Enjoy them warm or cold.
