How to Make Sweet Cheese Buns:

  1. Use the flour, milk, brewer’s yeast, oil, salt, 2 eggs, and 200g of sugar to make a dough. Cover it with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  2. After the dough has doubled in volume, roll it on a 1 cm deep baking sheet using the rolling pin and cut it into 14×14 or 15×15 cm squares.
  3. Mix the cottage cheese with the durum-wheat, 250g of sugar, the lemon zest, and vanilla sugar until it becomes a homogenous paste.
  4. Spread it equally on each dough square. Fold the corners towards the middle and press them together.
  5. Place them on a lined baking tray and let them rest for 20 minutes. Then brush them with egg mixed with sugar syrup and bake them.
  6. After taking the buns out of the oven, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
