1/2 kg beef brisketcut into chunks

Directions
Beef kaldereta is a good option if you are looking for a delicious main course for a special occasion. It’s a popular beef recipe that every Filipino loves. The combination of all the ingredients makes beef kaldereta delicious and irresistible.
How to Make Beef Kaldereta:
- Heat the oil over a medium heat in a pot or deep pan, add the potatoes and carrots and cook until the edges are slightly browned.
- Remove the potatoes and carrots from the oil and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the garlic and onion until limp.
- Add the beef chunks and cook for 5 minutes or until slightly browned.
- Add the water and bay leaves and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn the heat down to low and cover with a lid.
- Let it cook for 50 to 60 minutes or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally and adding more water as needed.
- Once the meat is tender and the water is reduced to half, add the tomato paste, chili and liver spread and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Put the cooked potatoes and carrots back with the rest of vegetables and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Lastly, add the grated cheese and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot with steamed rice. Enjoy!
