Designer Kitchen on Burling Street in Chicago
Welcome to Burling Street in Lincoln Park, Chicago, one of the priciest residential stretches in the city. Enter 1970 N Burling Street, a huge 7,800-square-foot mansion, with a playful design and a fantastic kitchen, which is currently among the 10 most expensive houses for sale in Chicago.
According to the listing description, the property was designed by architectural firm Liederbach and Graham and it offers a unique blend of exposed brick and industrial metal throughout. The interior is truly outstanding, with a level of detail and refinement (love the stair railings!) you would expect, but not always get, for a $7.9M property.
However, what we really fell in love with was the kitchen area. The mix of colors, shades and use of natural materials gives it a laid-back yet highly elevated feel. The decoration is beautifully done – an amazing use of color which feels fresh and yet sophisticated.
The kitchen includes an island with a broad stone top set on rugged steel supports. The countertops contrast with the kitchen cabinets, which are all quarter-sawn white oak, blending perfectly with the custom oak flooring and the Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances.
Next to the kitchen is a large 12-seater dining table. The wing chairs from Hickory Chair covered in Osborne & Little fabric join Soane Britain guest chairs in a Pierre Frey textile, while a Jonathan Browning chandelier hangs from the ceiling.
What about the rest of the property? Check out the pictures below as it’s truly breathtaking. As a bonus, the property also comes with a very “secret” garden.
