Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts
The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is situated in Vancouver and has been offering courses for culinary students for over 22 years. The institute offers a variety of programs that include basic cooking classes and diploma courses. If you’re interested in a casual class, you can check out the numerous offerings on the institute’s website that change monthly. For professionals, you can sign up to take a six-month or one-year program in culinary arts and baking/pastry arts. All professional courses provide students with a hands-on approach and touch on topics such as garnishing, stock making, marzipan, butchery charcuterie, and fish deboning. In addition to this, culinary students will learn about menu planning, budgeting, and inventory control. Classes are led by a master chef and have no more than 15 students in them. Tuition for the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts ranges from $20,000-$50,000 per year but there are discounts for Canadian students.
