Madame Germaine
Overlooking the St. Lawrence River in Saint-Romuald is Madame Germaine. This cooking school, founded by Anne Rouleau, began in 2015 and is named after Rouleau’s grandmother who was fond of perfecting meals and had an extensive recipe collection. Students will find plenty of cooking classes to sign up for that explore different aspects of world cuisines. This includes Indian spices, Chinese dumplings, Vietnamese coffee, and Peruvian ceviche. As you dive into how these dishes are made, Rouleau will tell you of her world travels and what inspired her about the meals she ate during her adventures. In addition to this, the cooking school has a Quebec-themed cooking class that explores this historic province’s traditional dishes, like meatball stew, salted herb soup, and maple pudding. Students will work together in a group and will be given recipes they can take home. The price for a Madame Germaine course is $70 per person.
