Centennial College
Located in Scarborough, Centennial College offers a few programs culinary students can sign up for. One is Culinary Skills. This program requires students to study the culinary arts for one year as they learn how to incorporate local ingredients in their meals, follow food trends, and gain real-life experience working in the college’s cafe and restaurant. The program will also allow students to earn certificates in Smart Serve and CPR. Another program offered at this college is Culinary Management. For two years students will study how to create menus, run a restaurant, focus on the importance of nutrition, and dive into international cuisines. Students could also sign up to study Baking and Pastry Arts Management where they’ll learn baking theory, food safety, kitchen management, and food entrepreneurship. Toward the end of their studies, culinary students will have the chance to work as an apprentice in a local restaurant or bakery. Tuition for the school is $5,000 per program for Canadian students and $17,198 for international ones.
