Canadian Food and Wine Institute
The Canadian Food and Wine Institute is connected to the Niagara College Canada’s Niagara-On-The-Lake Campus. The institute teaches its students not only the basics of culinary arts, but about fermentation, brewing, food safety, and bread baking. There are both part-time and full-time programs available that allow students to study for a certificate or diploma. These programs include Artisan Distilling, Baking and Pastry Arts, Wine Business Management, and Culinary Skills. There is also a Cook Apprenticeship Program that lasts for two 15-week terms and allows students to experience a career working in hotels, restaurants, and clubs. The institute is also home to one of the first teaching breweries in the country that gives potential brewers the opportunity to work alongside experts in the field. The Canadian Food and Wine Institute’s campus is located on over 40 acres of vineyards, gardens, and orchards giving students a unique farm-to-table approach in their cooking. Canadian applicants will find tuition costs around $5,000 per year and international students should look to pay around $13,000 per year.
