Star Anise Braised Red Cabbage

A Little Background

This is a nice dish to serve as an accompaniment to roast pork or chicken, or underneath a piece of grilled fish such as a tuna steak. It can even be served as a first course with some roasted baby beetroot and fresh coriander (cilantro) leaves. It is sweet, a little sour and has the wonderful aniseed aroma of star anise permeating through it.
