Anadromous
A term that describes fish which leave their ocean habitat and migrate to breed (spawn) in the fresh waters of lakes, rivers and streams.
They are also called mygratory fish.
The salmon, sturgeon, trout, salmon trout and chad are perhaps the most notable anadromous fish.
