Panko

A.K.A Japanese Bread Crumbs Panko is the Japanese word for breadcrumbs. In culinary terms however panko refers to crisp wheat bread crumbs that are lighter crispier than the regular breadcrumbs used in western cuisines. Panko is produced through a special baking process of the bread (electromagnetic baking), then the bread is dried and shredded into very “sharp edged” needles. Once fried, a panko crumbed product, stays crunchy and does not easily get soggy.
