Herbal Infusion
Herbal infusions are brewed with herbs, spices, flowers, fruits, roots or other parts of plants, but do not contain tea leaves and therefore are not a tea variety.
Contrary to tea, herbal infusions contain no caffeine. They are water based brews that are made by steeping dried ingredients or infusing fresh ingredients in boiling water. Once infused, they can be consumed chilled or hot.
Herbal infusions are deeply rooted as folk remedies and alternative medicines throughout the various regions and cultures in the form of tinctures, compresses and medicinal brews.
